FAQS

What are your thoughts on wearing black for pictures?

Go for it! If you ever have a question if something will work, send me a picture. I am happy to give you my honest feedback. Location is also a big deciding factor if a color family will work.

What are your favorite coordinating colors to photograph?

This totally depends on the family, location, time of year (summer - green, fall - yellow or orange tones, or winter - brown). Reds are personally not my favorite for fall pictures. I am not a huge fan of matching i.e. all white shirts and jeans. See my Instagram for some coordinating colors inspiration!

What is the best time of year to shoot?

“Best” is definitely a personal preference. I personally like spring/summer greens and color over fall/winter tones. A studio session is good anytime of year. Always an option when booking a full portrait session.

What do I do if my kids are silly/bad during our session?

Bring on the silly! I want to capture their unique personalities in all their glory! I rarely have a child act poorly during sessions. More times than not, the child is shy or taking a while to feel comfortable. Just like my own kids, I give them choices to get the desired action.

Mini session or full session? What’s the difference?

Here are the pros for each option…

Portrait session:

More time, relaxed and not rushed feeling, any choice of location, more candid moments and play, we can create your vision, all edited digital images (50+), downloadable slideshow included

Mini session:

Quick and easy, affordable, location selected for you, great way to get yearly portraits, immediate family or just the kids

My husband doesn’t like getting his photo taken, what do I do?

This is a great question. Let me start by saying, if your husband doesn’t like family photo sessions, you are not alone! My husband doesn’t like them either. But they usually do it because it’s important to us.

Even if your significant other is not in a good mood before pictures, he will enjoy the experience. I give my expectations at the start of the session for how the session will go. Dad knows what’s expected and it will go smoothly.

For us Moms/Wives, most of the stress comes before the session. Pick out outfits in advance and try everything on (yourself and the kids) before the day of the session. Plan for something to not go exactly as planned and try to relax. If you’re relaxed, they will be too.

Are gift cards available?

Yes, they are! Click here to purchase a gift card today.

Do you offer any courses for moms that want to learn how to use their fancy cameras?

I’ve had lots of interest in a mom-tography class, so I’m excited to say it is in the works and will probably be happening this winter. Keep an eye on my social media feeds for more information!
